Direct Deposit

Who qualifies for Universal's Direct Deposit Services?

Anyone who receives any of the following government payments:

  • Social Security
  • Supplemental Security
  • Railroad Retirement
  • Civil Service Retirement
  • Veterans Administration Compensation and Pension
  • Air Force Active Duty and Retirement
  • Marine Corps Active Duty
  • Federal Salary

How does Direct Deposit work?

Direct Deposit arranges for your payment to be sent electronically to Universal Bank for deposit into your account, instead of to your home. That means an end to any worry about checks being stolen or lost. It means no special trips to cash checks. And most importantly, it means that your funds start earning interest the day they arrive at Universal Bank.

How do I apply for Direct Deposit?

As soon as your next government check arrives, bring it into your nearest Universal Bank office and ask any New Account Representative for assistance. Universal will take care of the paperwork including notification of the appropriate government agency. There is no charge for this service.

Can my payroll check also be directly deposited?

Yes. If your company has agreed to sponsor the Direct Payroll Deposit Plan, simply fill out the authorization form provided by your employer.
